How we are organised
One national direction, connected local action
Each level has a clear responsibility for leadership, supervision, reporting, training and coordinated school protection.
The National Coordination Office provides overall leadership and direction.
Develops national policies and guidelines;
Supervises activities across the country;
Coordinates major programmes and partnerships; and
Represents the programme before the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Ministry of Education and PCRC national leadership.

Regional oversight
The Regional Coordination Office supervises activities within its assigned region. It ensures that national programmes are properly carried out and supports the zones under its supervision.

Each Zonal Coordination Office works with the states under its Police Zone.
Coordinates activities within the zone;
Provides training and operational support;
Reviews reports from the states;
Shares approved materials and instructions; and
Sends important safety information to the appropriate national authority.

Statewide management
The State Coordination Office manages the programme throughout the state.
Supervises Area Commands;
Coordinates statewide school safety activities;
Supports training and public awareness programmes;
Reviews reports received from Area Commands; and
Ensures that schools follow approved safety guidelines.

The Area Command Coordination Office supervises the Divisional Commands within its area.
Reviews activities at the local level;
Supports joint safety programmes;
Coordinates matters involving more than one division; and
Refers serious issues to the State Command.

Divisional Command Coordination
BOOSTARBOOSTAR-M
The Divisional Command connects the Police, PCRC, schools, parents, volunteers and communities.
Operational responsibilities
Appoints police liaison officers for participating schools;
Registers and verifies schools within the division;
Connects school security officers and authorised PCRC officials to BOOSTAR-M;
Encourages students, teachers, parents and community members to use BOOSTAR for early reporting of threats and emergencies;
Receives school distress alerts, safety reports and community intelligence through BOOSTAR and BOOSTAR-M;
Forwards serious reports to the appropriate Police authority;
Coordinates emergency response with the Police, PCRC, school management and other recognised responders; and
Monitors school safety activities within the division.
